Human Rights Training for Institute of Teacher Education

Teachers play an important role in shaping their students’ character, thoughts and attitudes. Teachers need to be trained on human rights so that they are able to be human rights educators in schools. The Commission in collaboration with Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) had conducted, and will continue to conduct several human rights talks at the IPG to raise awareness on human rights and children rights among future educators.

In addition, the Commission is developing a human rights training module for the educators which is to be utilized by the lecturers in IPGs. For 2020, the Commission was involved in the review of IPG’s syllabus to incorporate sufficient human rights contents in the syllabus.
