Welcome to the “Cartoonists Against Torture” online exhibition! This online exhibition displays a collection of cartoons around the theme of torture and degrading punishment illustrated by nine cartoonists from six countries namely Malaysia, Bangladesh, Egypt, Philippines, Iran and Mexico. Some are based on true stories, while others are creative work based on facts and incidences of torture.

The "Cartoonists Against Torture" is an artwork project launched by SUHAKAM in 2019 with the support of the European Union (EU) in Malaysia to promote public awareness on the Convention United Nations Convention Against Torture (UNCAT) as well as the unacceptable nature of torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment either in custody, interrogation or as means of punishment or disciplinary measure.
