YBhg. Datuk Mariati Robert graduated with a law degree from the University of Malaya in 1977 and was attached to the Attorney General’s Chambers as a Deputy Public Prosecutor and the Assistant Legal Director of the Legal Aid Bureau (Sabah Branch). She has been actively involved in numerous associations involving women empowerment at the state level. From 2012 to 2016, she was the Chairman of the Women’s Advisory Council which encourages women’s participation in the socio-economic development of the state. She was also the State Attorney General for Sabah from 2013 to 2017.
